Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to Help You with the Transition
Q: How does this affect my participation in the FSS Program?
A: Nothing will change with your FSS escrow account, how much time you have left in the program, or your enrollment in FSS. The only thing that will change is that your Financial Counselor will now be with Compass instead of Clarifi.
Q: When does this change happen?
A: This change will take effect December 31, 2022.
Q: Who is my new Financial Counselor?
A: Your Financial Counselor may remain the same – they’ll just be working for a different organization. Compass will reach out with warm introductions to your Financial Counselor and share their new contact information in January.
Q: Who is Compass and what do they do?
A: Compass Working Capital is a nonprofit organization working to end asset poverty for families with low incomes and narrow the racial and gender wealth divides. They have been part of the FSS partnership with Clarifi since 2018 and currently provide financial coaching to FSS participants across the country. Learn more at www.compassworkingcapital.org.
Q: What if I’m also working with Clarifi to complete housing counseling?
A: Your housing counseling will continue with no changes. Clarifi will continue to provide financial empowerment and housing success counseling services to the residents of Philadelphia free of charge based on funding availability.
Q: I have a current interim withdrawal or graduation request in process. How does this change affect that?
A: Nothing should change regarding those requests.
Q: I have an urgent need to meet with my counselor. Who should I reach out to?
A: For urgent needs, please contact info@fsspha.org or (267) 465-6446 and Compass will get the support you need until you can be connected with your Financial Counselor.
